Nursing updates as a means to improve patient satisfaction

Patient satisfaction has been tied to trust in healthcare providers, treatment adherence, and clinical outcomes [1,2]. As a quality measure, there is increased administrative attention on emergency department (ED) patient satisfaction scores. Studies have shown that nurses can positively impact patient satisfaction with hourly bedside rounding and bedside handoffs [3,4]. However, studies are still needed to better understand interventions that can optimize patient satisfaction that complement nursing workflow in the ED.
