Iraq War Contractors File Redacted Brief In 5th Circuit Political Question Appeal

NEW ORLEANS - Contractors sued in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas by Iraq war veterans for hexavalent chromium exposure at an oil extraction site in Iraq were granted leave Feb. 15 to file under seal in the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals the appellant brief in their appeal of the August 2012 orders denying motions to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction pursuant to the political question doctrine and the combat activities exception in the Federal Tort Claims Act; a redacted appellant brief was filed Feb. 22 (Mark McManaway, et al. v. KBR Inc., et al., No. 12-20763, 5th Cir.; See 12/18/12, Page 28).
