A word of caution: Clearly not all type I and III endoleaks are alike

In this paper by Swerdlow and colleagues,1 the authors retrospectively study their Zenith Fenestrated AAA Endovascular Graft (ZFEN; Cook Medical, Bloomington, Ind) population to document that 60% (31/52) of patients had evidence of either a type I or type III endoleak after implantation of all device components. Twelve patients (39%) underwent further intervention at the index procedure, whereas three endoleaks resolved spontaneously before completion. Therefore, their study group was made up of 28 patients leaving the operating room with a type I or type III endoleak on completion angiography.
