American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Schoor Research Award Application Deadline: May 1 The American Academy of Periodontology Foundation supports resident research in the field of periodontology through the Robert S. Schoor Research Award Program, a $2,000 annual award for resident-written manuscript. A wide range of research subjects that are significant to the clinical practice of periodontology will be supported. The program is named in memory of Robert S. Schoor, DDS, a champion of periodontal education and students. Eligibility Full-time residents in an accredited US periodontal program in any year of residency are eligible to apply. Amount of Award and Use of Funds The Schoor Award Committee distributes one $2,000 award each year for a manuscript written by the resident as sole or principal author based on his or her research. A Schoor Research Award is a tax-exempt income-supplementing scholarship. The manuscript must be appropriate for submission to the Journal of Periodontology, but receipt of a Schoor Award is not contingent upon publication. Deadline for Application Application for a Schoor Award may be made by May 1 in any year of periodontal residency. The application packet consists of the Application Cover Sheet and the Manuscript.
