Neusoft Medical Systems Co., Ltd. - NeuViz 128 Multislice CT Scanner System - Class 2 Recall

NeuViz 128 Multi-slice CT Scanner System Product Usage: The Multi-Slice CT Scanner System can be used as a whole body computed tomography x-ray system featuring a continuously rotating x-ray tube and detector array. The acquired x-ray transmission data is reconstructed by computer into cross-sectional images of the body from either the same axial plane taken at different angles or spiral planes taken at different angles.

Authors: Fistarol F, De Stavola L, Fincato A, Bressan E Abstract The aim of this study is to evaluate the anatomical characteristics of the posterior region of the mandible and their surgical relevance related to bone harvesting procedures. Fifty retromolar cone beam computed tomography scans were analyzed considering the donor site anatomies. For each site, linear measurements were taken of cross-sectional scans to record perpendicular distances between the mandibular canal (MC) and the vestibular and crestal bone walls. Data showed that the distance from the MC to the vestibular bone wall is lower in the ramus ar...

CONCLUSIONS: Patients with CLP and maxillary hypoplasia have a thicker and more everted lower lip than noncleft controls. Patients with BCLP have a significantly thicker lower lip than those with UCLP. Strain of the lower lip musculature appears to be an important contributor to the development of the cleft lip lower lip deformity. PMID: 31610716 [PubMed - in process]

Publication date: Available online 15 October 2019Source: Urology Case ReportsAuthor(s): C.H.F. Wong, H. Chau, C.W. Man, S.K. ChuAbstractFrom the literature, the managements for nephropulmonary fistula were variable. We would like to present our case and review the literature for the best method of care. The common features were 1) infected kidney; 2) ipsilateral lower lobe pneumonia or pleural effusion; 3) sputum and urine culture growing the same organism. Renal gaseous content may not be present on x-ray or even CT scan. The choice of management for the nephropulmonary fistula was diverse. However, conservative management...

To test the applicability of Head Injury Criterion (HIC), three different-sized (5th, 50th, 95th percentile) finite element head models were developed from medical CT scan images of living humans. These models were scaled to generate six scaled models. The...

Abstract A novel deep learning architecture was explored to create synthetic CT (MRCT) images that preserve soft tissue contrast necessary for support of patient positioning in Radiation therapy. A U-Net architecture was applied to learn the correspondence between input T1-weighted MRI and spatially aligned corresponding CT images. The network was trained on sagittal images, taking advantage of the left-right symmetry of the brain to increase the amount of training data for similar anatomic positions. The output CT images were divided into three channels, representing Hounsfield Unit (HU) ranges of voxels containi...

This study was aimed to estimate the length of the MIC in the interforaminal safe zone, to analyse its course in relation to the lingual and the buccal cortical plates of the mandible using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans and to relate the above findings to age, gender, dental status and Malaysian races.MethodsRetrospective analysis of 100 CBCT scans (n = 200) was performed on both sides of the mandible. Cross-sectional and panoramic images were reconstructed. The length of the MIC and the horizontal distances between the MIC and the buccal and the lingual cortical plates were measured at the three...

In this issue, Tang et al. [1] from Taiwan report on an increasingly important issue in thoracic medicine and surgery, the natural history of small, asymptomatic lung nodules. The widespread use, over the last couple of decades, of increasingly sensitive computed tomography (CT) scans with reducing radiation dose has resulted in the recognition of a significant population of otherwise healthy patients who have a lung nodule of undefined nature. In most cases, this lung nodule has been detected at the time of a CT scan for a completely different issue —atypical chest pain, back pain, shoulder pain, and often for inves...

ConclusionGISTs most commonly affect the stomach, most tumors are treated by primary surgical excision with normal safety margins, advanced disease may need imatinib before surgery which helps in decreasing the size of the tumor and makes surgery easier.
