Association between preoperative adenomyosis detection rate during pelvic ultrasonography and the specialty of the reading physician

ConclusionThe detection rate of adenomyosis was significantly higher when ultrasound was performed by expert gynecologic sonologists compared to radiologists. Presence of fibroids significantly decreased detection rates regardless of specialty. Ultrasound evaluation for detecting adenomyosis should be preferentially performed by gynecologic expert sonologists.
