Clinical outcomes and radiologic assessment of a modified suture button arthroscopic Latarjet procedure

As several neurologic and hardware complications have been reported with screw fixation. Suture buttons are used to serve as an alternative to screw fixation to obtain better outcome and to reduce the complica...

The aim of this study was to propose new radiographic markers, the coraco-lesser tuberosity angle (CLA), lesser tuberosity angle (LTA) and lesser tuberosity height (LTH). The hypothesis was that higher values of CLA, LTA, and LTH would be associated with ...

All-Inside Arthroscopic Meniscal Repair with the Arthrex Meniscal Cinch™ II. Surg Technol Int. 2019 Dec 12;36: Authors: Jenkins JM, Hopper GP, Mackay GM Abstract Meniscal tears are the most common indication for knee surgery. An appreciation of the limitations associated with the gold-standard inside-out meniscal repair technique has resulted in the development of newer all-inside techniques that overcome many of these issues. This paper describes, with a video illustration available online, a one-handed all-inside meniscal repair technique using the Meniscal Cinch™ II (Arthrex, Inc., Naple...

This study aimed to use machine learning methods to predict post-total knee arthroplasty (TKA) walking limitation, and to compare their performance with that of logistic regression.MethodsFrom the department ’s clinical registry, a cohort of 4026 patients who underwent elective, primary TKA between July 2013 and July 2017 was identified. Candidate predictors included demographics and preoperative clinical, psychosocial, and outcome measures. The primary outcome was severe walking limitation at 6 mont hs post-TKA, defined as a maximum walk time ≤ 15 min. Eight common regression (logistic, penalized...

ConclusionLarger differences in calculated correction angles between pre-operative radiographs standing with and without LWI predicted larger changes in JLCA after HTO. Whole-leg radiograph standing on LWI is a promising modality for correct pre-operative planning considering patient-specific changes in JLCA before vs. after HTO.Level of evidenceIV.

ConclusionA long history of shoulder pain that is not responsive to conservative management in young patients should raise the suspicion of an "OO", and physicians should be encouraged to use early advanced imaging modalities in order to confirm it.
