HRS 40th anniversary viewpoints: Reflections on a career in arrhythmia surgery

Those of you who are following Editor-in-Chief Dr Chen ’s series of invited Viewpoint vignettes in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Heart Rhythm Society will recognize that the title of my invited contribution to this celebratory series, “Reflections on a Career in Arrhythmia Surgery,” is a wordplay on the title of my friend Mel Scheinma n’s recent contribution, “Reflections on a Career in Academic Medicine.” This singular form of flattery—imitation—intentionally signifies the deep admiration I have for my electrophysiology colleagues with whom I have worked on a daily basis, both clinically and experimentally, throughout my professional life.
