Obesity paradox in associations between body mass index and diabetes-related hospitalization and mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes: Retrospective cohort studies.

CONCLUSIONS: - The BMI associated with the best survival and less hospitalization was the higher-high-risk obesity (≥ 27.5 kg/m2) category. We observed obesity paradox for mortality outcomes, which should be addressed by further research, particularly on whether randomized controlled trials of adopting a healthy lifestyle for patients with obesity can improve type 2 diabetes patients' survival.
