Conclusions: High screen time was the most prevalent lifestyle risk behavior independently associated with depressive symptoms. Multiple lifestyle changes and improvement of appearance satisfaction should be included in measures targeting adolescents for the prevention and treatment of depressive symptoms. Future studies should elaborate on the gender differences in other adolescent age groups. Appearance satisfaction should be acknowledged as an important confounder in future studies of lifestyle and depressive symptoms. PMID: 31419392 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Publication date: Available online 16 August 2019Source: Sensors and Actuators A: PhysicalAuthor(s): Weina Liu, Xinwei Yang, Youtian Niu, Haoran SunAbstractIn this paper, a sub-wavelength resonance sensor is proposed to microwave detection applications. A meta-material element—multiple split ring resonator (MSRR) is used to improve the sensitivity of the sensor. Therefore, the sensor is based on micro-strip technology and consists of a micro-strip and a MSRR. It is observed that the strongest electric field of the sensor can achieve to 105V/m. So the sensor is very sensitive to capture changes of dielectric signals. ...

Similarly, individuals suffering from these disorders have a higher risk of developing alcoholism. Several reports have implicated orexin signaling in different behaviors related to alcohol consumption, whereas antagonists block these actions. However, the involvement of orexin-1-receptor (Orx1R) in ethanol-induced anxiolysis remains relatively unexplored. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether intra-accumbal inhibition...

The objective of the present study was to investigate the association between hair and urine Al levels and obesity.MethodsA total of 206 lean and 205 obese non-occupationally exposed subjects (30-50 y.o.) were enrolled in the study. Hair and urine Al levels were assessed with ICP-MS. Laboratory quality control was performed using the certified reference materials of human hair, plasma, and urine.ResultsHair and urinary Al levels in obese subjects were significantly higher by 31% and 46% compared to the control levels, respectively. The presence of hypertension (41% cases), atherosclerosis (8%), type 2 diabetes melli...

Herein, we clarified the different effects of PFN and its derivatives, namely, poly[(9,9-bis(3′-((N,N-dimethyl)-N-ethylammonium)-propyl)-2,7-fluorene)-alt-2,7-(9,9-dioctylfluorene)] (PFN-...

The results show that the addition of electron donor agent (0.2 mol L−1 ascorbic acid) to the electrolyte (0.1 mol L−1 sodium sulfate pH 4.5) led to an improvement of 22% and 12% in CO2/methanol and CO2/ethanol conversion respectively, after 3 h of photo...

In this work, efficient aerobic oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds catalyzed by ruthenium-terpyridine [(tpy-PhCH3)RuCl3] with isobutyraldehyde as co-substrate was developed. Various alcohols including primary and secondary alcohols are smoothly converted to corresponding carbonyl compounds in good yield. In a 100 times large-scale oxidation o...
