The selection and mechanism of composite solvent containing ionic liquid in liquid-liquid microextraction Process

Publication date: Available online 8 March 2019Source: Chemical Engineering and Processing - Process IntensificationAuthor(s): Jing Fang, Yihan Li, Tingting Li, Chunli LiAbstractThe composite solvent containing ionic liquid is applied in dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) to improve its performance. The solvents are screened by COSMO-SAC method and density functional theory (DFT) is used to verify the reliability of COSMO-SAC. At the same time, DFT is also used to prove the superiority and study the mechanism of the composite solvent. The feasibility of molecular design, the optimized composite ratio and the extraction ratio are obtained by the experiment which provides basic data and theoretical guidance for the screening of composite solvent in DLLME.Graphic abstractThe composite solvent was selected based on COSMO-SAC and DFT theory, which consisted of [HMIM][PF6]and C8H16O2. It is the extractant for DLLME technology in order to improve the performance of extracting Phoxim from water.
