Prolapsed uterine myoma: Case report

Introduction: Uterine leiomyomas are the most frequent pelvic tumors of the female genital tract. Affects 20 –30% of women of childbearing age and 40% over 40 years old. Symptomatic in 50% of cases. Rare before menarche, regresses after menopause. 3–9 times more incident in black women. More prevalent in the uterine body and less in the cervix. Pedicled leiomyomas may originate from the subserosa or su bmucosa. Submucosa with exaggerated growth of the pedicle can be expelled through the cervical canal, being called “Prolapsed Uterine Leiomyoma”.
