American Thoracic Society Fellowship in Health Equality The American Thoracic Society (ATS) is committed to improving health equality throughout the U.S. To this end, the ATS announces the establishment of the ATS Fellowship in Health Equality. This fellowship is designed to support the efforts of senior fellows, junior faculty or post-doctoral students towards the further development of an action plan for ATS in health equality. Such comprehensive action plan needs to take into consideration the opinions and recommendations of academicians, health advocacy groups, private foundations, federal agencies, and policy makers. To facilitate the development of the ATS Health Equality Action Plan, the ATS will provide financial support as a fellowship to a successful candidate as explained below. The ATS Fellowship in Health Equality will provide up to $25,000 to support the efforts of the successful candidate from January 15, 2015 through December 15, 2015. In addition to efforts at their home institution, the fellow is expected to spend time in Washington D.C. during which he/she will engage in conversations with ATS leadership, policy makers in Congress, the Administration, health policy experts and academicians in the region.
