Fomitopsins I and J, 24-methyl-lanostane triterpenoids from fruiting bodies of the wood-rot basidiomycete Fomitopsis sp.

The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. Their antibacterial and cytotoxic activities were evaluated. One of the known compounds (6) exhibited antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Bacillus cereus (MIC 6.25 μg/ml) and Enterococcus faecium (MIC 12.5 μg/ml).Graphical abstract
