In conclusion, NKX3.1 shows routine expression in Sertoli cells and P501S shows routine expression in Leydig cells and rete testis epithelium. In addition, these markers can be positive in sex cord-stromal tumors and rete testis adenocarcinoma.

Authors: Knežević N, Kuliš T, Penezić L, Ćorić M, Krhen I, Kaštelan Ž Abstract Twenty to thirty percent of patients with clinical stage I testicular tumor have metastases in the retroperitoneum. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of OCT4 immunohistochemistry in histopathologic diagnosis of lymph node metastases in patients with nonseminomatous germ cell testicular tumors. All clinical stage I patients with staging laparoscopic retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy from 2001 until 2009 were included. Archived materials of dissected lymph nodes were reassessed and additional immunohistochemi...

Abstract Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) mostly affect young men, but fortunately belong to well curable solid tumors. Today, different treatment strategies are applied reaching excellent out-comes and introduction of alternative approach of patient active survilence or adjuvant chemotherapy after orchiectomy decreases number of unnecessary toxic treatments of young patients. Also for relapsing patients, salvage therapy offers high survival rates. However, small percentage of affected young men do not respond to conventional therapy regimen due to intrinsic or acquired therapy resistance. For precise watching ...

ConclusionPlerixafor proved effective to mobilize adequate numbers of PBSCs in individual patients with relapsed malignancies after prior single or tandem HDC+PBSCT. These PBSCs could establish sustained multi-lineage hematopoietic engraftment without any sequelae.

This selection from the NCCN Guidelines for Testicular Cancer focuses on recommendations for the management of adult patients with nonseminomatous GCTs. PMID: ...

We report a unique case of seminoma presenting as gastric mucosal metastasis. The diagnosis of this case was complicated by no residual testicular tumor or pelvic/retroperitoneal lymph nodes metastasis and no available specific serum markers. The histological morphology and immunostains allowed the correct diagnosis to be made in this case. This case highlights the rare manifestation of seminoma, which appears to be a primary tumor of an unusual site of germ cell tumor metastasis.

Abstract OBJECTIVES: To characterize the tumor microenvironment of testicular germ cell tumors (GCTs) using immunohistochemical markers. METHODS: Seventy-seven orchiectomies, including 36 nonmetastatic (NM) seminomas, 15 metastatic (M) seminomas, 13 nonmetastatic nonseminomatous germ cell tumors (NSGCTs), and 13 metastatic NSGCTs, were studied with PD-1, PD-L1, FOXP3, CD68, CD163, and mismatch repair (MMR) immunohistochemistry. FOXP3+ and PD-1+ tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) expressing CD68 and CD163 were enumerated. PDL-1 expression was evaluated on tumor cells ...

In conclusion, our study revealed that PG modulated cell proliferation, the cell cycle, apoptosis, and glucose metabolism in TGCTs through regulating miR-199a. These findings indicate a novel therapeutic strategy and a potential biomarker for TGCT treatment. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. We reported a case of 18 years-old female patient admitted to Mansoura oncology center with severe abdominal pain. Physical examination revealed a distended abdomen with hepatomegaly with no abdominal mass. Computed tomographic (CT) scan of the abdomen revealed markedly enlarged liver with multiple innumerable variable sized hyper-echoic non-enhanced focal lesions. The patient underwent an ultrasound- guided biopsy of the liver that showed metastatic yolk sac tumor. Colonoscopy confirmed a large polypoidal ulcerating mass that was 15 cm from anal verge. Biopsy from the mass revealed conventional colonic adenocarcinoma merg...
