CDC partners with Triangle company to fight antibiotic resistance

Over the next year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) plans to dramatically reduce antimicrobial resistance by partnering with several international and national governments, drug manufacturers, hospital associations and a Triangle-based medical company. According to the CDC, between 30 percent and 50 percent of antibiotics in the country are wasted each year – about 47 million prescriptions.
