While permanent pacing has improved millions of lives since its adoption almost sixty years ago, global usage has varied significantly, with particularly low application rates in many low-middle income countries (LMICs) with symptomatic, life-threatening bradyarrhythmias. This manuscript highlights the importance of pacemaker underutilization in many LMICs and reviews potential solutions, emphasizing the scientific advances supporting pacemaker reutilization.
