ConclusionsGram-negative bacilli can develop abnormal morphology due to stress or sub-inhibitory antibiotic exposure, and it is important for ocular microbiologists and pathologists to be aware of this phenomenon to avoid misinterpretation that may lead to inappropriate treatment.
