46.3 Building an Early Foundation for Well-Being: Using Quality Improvement and Qualitative Methods to Guide Program Evolution

The goal of this presentation is to describe the implementation and outcomes of early childhood mental health (ECMH) consultation to primary care providers (PCPs), with a focus on consultation patterns, provider knowledge and attitudes, and changes in practice patterns in response to iterative changes through a quality improvement approach. Pediatric PCPs are in an excellent position to lead ECMH prevention and first-line intervention efforts. Unfortunately, many PCPs do not receive substantial training in this area during residency.
