Complex Glandular Patterns in Lung Adenocarcinoma Complex Glandular Patterns in Lung Adenocarcinoma
This study provides new insight into the potential role of complex glandular patterns in clinical management of lung adenocarcinoma.American Journal of Clinical Pathology
CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a novel insight into the association of Streptococcus gallolyticus subspecies pasteurianus with HCC. The isolation of the organism from blood and ascitic fluid should prompt the clinicians to search for evidence of HCC actively. PMID: 30332912 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
CONCLUSION: PJ leakage seems to be associated with more frequent and earlier local recurrence while it did not influence survival. KEY WORDS: Leakage, Pancreatic cancer, Recurrence. PMID: 30337513 [PubMed - in process]
ConclusionsThe agreement between observers on the novel SSN classification system was good and had better correlation with pathologic invasiveness than the conventional SSN classification. Further studies are needed to confirm these results on interobserver agreement.
We examined the programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in surgically resected pancreatic adenosquamous carcinoma (PASC) samples. Furthermore, the detection rate was also assessed using biopsy cases obtained from endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EUS-FNA).MethodsFifteen cases of PASC (six resected and nine EUS-FNA biopsied) from the Kurume University Hospital between 2009 and 2016 were used for the evaluation of PD-L1 expression. As a control group, 34 cases of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs) were selected. To compare the positivity and intensity of PD-L1, two types of clones (SP263, E1L...
Authors: Xie X, Zhao W, Pang J, Xiong X, Wang H, Ma L Abstract Research has demonstrated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are crucial factors in carcinogenesis. LncRNA, cardiac hypertrophy-related factor (CHRF), has been demonstrated to act as an oncogene in a variety of types of tumor. However, its biological function in lung adenocarcinoma remains to be elucidated. The present study aimed to examine the level of CHRF expression in lung adenocarcinoma tissues and cell lines, and to analyze the association between CHRF and clinicopathological characteristics, as well prognosis of patients with lung adenocarcinom...
In conclusion, metformin inhibits the phosphoinositide-3 kinase/Akt and ERK1/2 signaling pathways in A549 cells to reduce the expression of Nrf2, GSTA1 and ABCC1. Metformin also reverses the resistance of A549/DDP cells to platinum drugs, inhibits the proliferation and promotes apoptosis of drug-resistant cells. These results may provide a theoretical basis and therapeutic targets for the clinical treatment of tumors. PMID: 30333878 [PubMed]
Authors: Lu H, Wu S, Chen H, Huang Y, Qiu G, Liu L, Li Y Abstract Effect of crizotinib on apoptosis of lung cancer cells was investigated. Human non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma H2228 cells were cultured in the presence of 0, 20, 40, 80, 160 and 320 nmol/l of crizotinib for 3 days, respectively. The inhibition rate of cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay, and half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) was calculated. Cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. Transwell assay was performed to detect cell migration. Expression of Janus protein tyrosine kinase (JAK) and signal transducer and activator ...
In conclusion, the present data identified miR-339-5p as a novel LA suppressor which exerted its functions partly by negatively regulating BCL6. PMID: 30333862 [PubMed]
ConclusionMiR-21 suppressed the Hippo signaling pathway and promoted the progression of LAD through targeting KIBRA.
ConclusionUse of interstitial HDR-BQ guided by RM increased CTV-HR dose and local control, like EMBRACE results. Nodal boost improves RDFS and perhaps OS.
