This study aims to investigate whether the combination of CFL and 5-fluorouracil could reduce FAK protein level and iCa2+ and enhance p21 level. Furthermore, it is necessary to evaluate the response to treatment with new cancer therapeutic agents. After 24 hours of treatment, it was necessary to assess the percentage of apoptosis, FAK, and p21 protein expression by flow cytometry. iCa2+ concentration was measured using immunofluorescence. The combination therapy of CFL with 5-fluorouracil potently suppressed six treatment groups were included in this study. HT-29 cell lines were cultured and divided into six groups: group ...

Authors: Kushwaha JP, Baidya D, Patil S Abstract Harmine (HM), a phytoconstituent has wide range of pharmacological activities including antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidative and anticancer. HM has shown promising anticancer activity against liver cancer cells. However, poor aqueous solubility, multidrug pump P-gp efflux, extensive in vivo metabolism and rapid elimination due to glucuronidation/sulfation limits clinical utility of HM. In order to overcome the drawbacks of HM, the current work reports preparation of HM loaded galactosylated pluronic F-68 (PF68)-Gelucire® 44/14(GL44) mixed micelles (HM-MM). 32...

Most lateral pelvic masses in women are ovarian in origin, and the distinction between ovarian and nonovarian mimics of ovarian cancer is critical for appropriate clinical and surgical management. Adnexal masses detected on ultrasound can be further characterized by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) when needed. Superior contrast resolution, multiplanar imaging, charact...

Robinson, D. Gardner, N.P. MonganSummaryCanine urothelial carcinoma (UC) is the most common type of cancer of the lower urinary tract and tends to affect elderly neutered female dogs, with a high predisposition for Scottish terriers. Tumour stroma, inflammation and necrosis are poorly characterized in canine UC and their role as prognostic factors is unknown. The aims of this study were to (1) assess histologically 381 canine UCs, with e...

Sheridan, Karl Obrietan, Leah M. PyterAbstractCircadian rhythms influence various aspects of biology, including hormonal, immunological, and behavioral processes. These 24-hour oscillations are necessary to optimize cellular functions and to synchronize these processes with the environment. Breast cancer patients and survivors frequently report disruptions in circadian oscillations that adversely affect quality-of-life, including fragmented sleep-wa...
