Su1146 THE YIELD OF MUCOSAL BIOPSY COMPARED TO BRUSH CYTOLOGY FOR ESOPHAGEAL CANDIDIASIS DURING UPPER ENDOSCOPY
Candidal esophagitis is increasingly suspected and diagnosed in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients with esophageal symptoms and endoscopic evidence of esophageal candidiasis. Endoscopic sampling optons for diagnosis include mucosal biopsy and brush cytology. However, the relative yield of esophageal biopsy compared brushing to has not been clearly delineated.
