Tu2001 ESOPHAGEAL DILATION WITH ESOFLIP AS AN ACCEPTABLE ALTERNATIVE THERAPY IN CHILDREN WITH EPIDERMOLYSIS BULLOSA

Functional lumen imaging probe (FLIP) uses high-resolution impedance planimetry to measure the cross-sectional area along an axial plane during a volume-controlled distension. FLIP evaluates the mechanical properties of the esophageal lumen and dynamic parameters including the cross-sectional area (CSA), compliance, diameter, and distensibility index (a calculated value based on the smallest CSA divided by the pressure needed to maintain the smallest CSA). EsoFLIP ® is one variant of the FLIP that in addition to providing luminal data also allows stricture dilation.
