Including management criteria for hazardous drugs in the drug procurement process

The term “hazardous drug” (HD) is used for medications tkat present at least one of the following risk characteristics for humans: carcinogenicity; teratogenicity or any other toxicity threatening development; reproductive toxicity; organ toxicity at low doses; genotoxicity; and having a similar structur e or toxicity profile to other known hazardous medications.1
