CONCLUSIONS Depression, but not generalized anxiety disorder, is associated with adiposity in both directions, with a stronger evidence for the direction obesity-depression. Inflammation explains part of the effect of major depressive disorder on obesity but not the other way around. Further research should explore other mechanisms that could be involved in the association between obesity and depression.

AbstractDuloxetine is a combined serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor indicated in adults for the treatment of major depressive disorder, diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain, and generalized anxiety disorder. The aim of these studies was to evaluate the effect of food on the pharmacokinetics and safety of duloxetine 60 ‐mg gastroresistant hard capsules following single‐dose administration. The data were obtained from 2 phase 1 bioequivalence studies, 1 in a fasting state and the other under fed conditions. Both studies have shown that, when administered as a single dose in the same prandial state, the test ...

AbstractBackgroundPost-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be exacerbated by subsequent trauma, but it is unclear if symptoms are worsened by impending death. PTSD symptoms, including hyperarousal, negative mood and thoughts, and traumatic re-experiencing, can impact end-of-life symptoms, including pain, mood, and poor sleep. Thus, increased symptoms may lead to increased end-of-life healthcare utilization.ObjectivesTo determine if veterans with PTSD have increased end-of-life healthcare utilization or medication use and to examine predictors of medication administration.DesignSecondary analysis of a stepped-wedge design ...
