Many variables influence fatigue including physical function, pain, fibromyalgia and psychiatric comorbidity. Literature is conflicted on its association with disease activity. To assess fatigue and its correlates among patients with SLE. Existent data from validation of Hindi LupusPRO study were utilized for this study. SLE patients were enrolled and underwent assessments of disease activity and damage (SELENA-SLEDAI and SLICC/ACR Damage Index (SDI)). Depression (Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9)), anxiet...

CONCLUSIONS: The addition of standardised screening tools to an electronic health history resulted in the identification of potential mental health, sleep and allergy problems in both Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Strong associations between mental health and sleep disorders suggest these problems should be considered together in health screening programmes. PMID: 33020138 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

AbstractIndecisiveness is trait-like difficulty making decisions across time and situations. Past investigations indicate that indecisiveness is associated with Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Obsessive –Compulsive Disorder as well as with neuroticism, Intolerance of Uncertainty (IU), and avoidance. The most used measure of indecisive is Frost and Shows’ (Behav Res Therapy, 1993. http://doi.org/10.1016/0005-7967(93)90121-a) Indecisiveness Scale (IS), which has been revised to remove situation-s pecific indecision items. Research evaluating the original and revised IS (RIS) has found...

CONCLUSIONS: Coprescription of benzodiazepines was associated with increased dropout in older patients with GAD and more medication-related adverse effects in older patients with MDD. However, with the systematic clinical attention offered in a clinical trial, they do not impede treatment response. Clinicians should be aware that a coprescribed benzodiazepine may be a marker of a more challenging treatment course. PMID: 32991792 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

CONCLUSIONS: A high number of SF soldiers self-reported an SCI diagnosis. Airborne operations landings were the leading cause of SCI, which coincided with warfare tactics employed during the Persian Gulf War, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and other conflicts. A majority of SCIs occurred while wearing headgear and no body armor, suggesting the need for improvements in protective equipment use and design. The low rate of medevac rescue for these injuries may suggest that medical rescue was not attainable at the time or that certain SCIs were deemed minor at the time of injury. AbstractAdolescents with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME) appear to be more likely to experience anxiety and/or depression using Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). However, we do not know how accurate these are at detecting problems in this patient group given the primary symptom of fatigue. We aimed to accurately determine the prevalence of anxiety/depression using gold-standard diagnostic interviews and evaluate the accuracy of PROMs measuring mood disorders in this patient group. We conducted a cross-sectional epidemiological study in a specialist tertiary paediatric CFS/ME service, En...
