Fifteen Minutes Daily Brisk Walk May Be a New Best Target in Very Old Adults: Age Is Not an Excuse to Not Exercise

Epidemiologic studies are a powerful tool for scientific societies to promote physical activity implementation among older adults. They clarify the type, intensity, duration, and frequency needed to induce health benefits.1 Some studies reported significant benefits of vigorous intensity and/or long duration of physical activity in reducing mortality.2 Others an optimal threshold with long-term physical activity.3
