Cancer survival rate continues to climb

Women's probability of surviving cancer is improving year-to-year despite their continuing to be diagnosed with the disease at a steady rate, according to statistics released by the American Cancer Society. The U.S. cancer death rate among men and women dropped 25 percent in the quarter century since the early 1990s and continues to decline, researchers found. That translates to more than 2.1 million fewer cancer deaths than would have been expected if death rates had remained at their peak.   Re search…
