Maui hospital, cancer center lease dispute heads to court

A dispute between the Hawaii Health Systems Corp. and the Pacific Cancer Institute over the cancer center ’s ground lease at the Maui Memorial Medical Center campus has reached an impasse and is headed to state court ahead of a deadline for resolution next month. The state agency alleges the leases signed with Pacific Cancer Institute in 2005 and 2012 are illegal because they violate two federal laws .
