[New Times] Conjunctivitis, also called "pinkeye", is defined as an inflammation of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is the thin membrane that lines the inner surface of the eyelids and the whites of the eyes. Conjunctivitis can affect children and adults. The most common symptoms of conjunctivitis include a red eye and discharge.
