We examined the differences between the right and left atlas pedicles and compared measures between males and females. These data were analyzed using significance tests. CONCLUSION The AAST grading of acute diverticulitis is equivalent to the modified Hinchey classification in predicting procedural intervention and complications. The AAST system may be preferable to Hinchey because it can be applied preoperatively. Although this pilot study demonstrated that the AAST score predicts surgical need, a larger study is required to evaluate the AAST score for other outcomes. Conclusions: This proof-of-concept study demonstrates that high-resolution FDG-PET/CT can facilitate intra-operative margin assessment during BCS. In conclusion, this population-based cohort study showed that a head CT scan is not associated with increased risk of thyroid disease in patients with minor head injury. The short-term adverse effects on the thyroid could be mild when a regular CT scan is appropriately performed.
