Taylor Swift Directs Her Mountain of Taylor Clones in New Behind-the-Scenes Video

Curious how Taylor Swift prepared to play the biggest role of her life: herself? Now we know, thanks to another new behind-the-scenes video shared from the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer, documenting the film shoot for the intricately self-referential music video of her chart-topping new song. In the video, a number of versions of Taylor over the years all come together to form a mountain of clawing, raging young ladies. To make it happen, Swift’s crew employed a collection of Swiftian body doubles and a helpful green screen. “OK, this is the trippiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” Swift explains in the set footage as she surveys her sea of platinum-haired lookalikes. “Seeing all of them together is the weirdest feeling… It’s like, ‘Oh that’s a phase I went through when I was 16, but a girl is wearing it who looks just like me.’ But we’re having a great time. We’re all just chatting about life. That’s gotta look weird.” She further explains the premise: “We are all like creating this pile of people who are trying to get to the top, all of whom happen to be like my former selves. Which these girls are so wonderful to, like, do that,” she laughs. Viewers also get a sense of Swift’s artistic confidence on set, as she calls out directions about which forms of Taylor should be involved in catfights that get extra screen time. And, yes, Swift really does lean in...

Authors: Zorc-Pleskovič R, Pleskovič A, Vraspir-Porenta O, Zorc M, Milutinović A Abstract In coronary artery disease (CAD), the disruption of the tunica media immune privilege manifests as increased leukocyte infiltration and the formation of vasa vasorum. We aimed to characterize the immune privilege status of the tunica media in human coronary arteries (CAs) with atherosclerotic plaques, by comparing the abundance and composition of immune-cell infiltrates within the individual arterial-wall layers, and by evaluating vasa vasorum neovascularization of the tunica media. The tissue samples were obtained from 36 ...

Authors: Yılmaz Susluer S, Kayabasi C, Ozmen Yelken B, Asik A, Celik D, Balci Okcanoglu T, Serin Senger S, Biray Avci C, Kose S, Gunduz C Abstract Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in numerous biological processes, including epigenetic regulation, cell-cycle control, and transcriptional/translational regulation of gene expression. Differential expression of lncRNAs and disruption of the regulatory processes are recognized as critical steps in cancer development. The role of lncRNAs in hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is not well understood. Here we analyzed the expression of 135 lncRNAs in plasm...

Authors: Caronia L, Saglietti M Abstract This paper focuses on the epistemic and interactional resources displayed by nurses participating in medical case construction and the ways through which they make a difference in the unfolding of this activity. This paper draws on an ethnographic research in an Italian Intensive Care Unit (ICU) selected according to a purposeful sampling approach out of a national sample of 40 ICUs participating in a larger research project. Our dataset, collected over a period of six months of ethnographic observations, consisted of the observers' field notes and log-books, audio and video...

Authors: Müller T Abstract Heterogeneous expression of neurotransmitter deficits results from onset and progression of Parkinson's disease. Intervals, characterized by reappearance of motor and associated certain nonmotor symptoms, determine the end of good tolerability and efficacy of oral levodopa therapy. These "OFF" states result from levodopa pharmacokinetics and disease progression-related deterioration of the central buffering capacity for fluctuations of dopamine levels. This review discusses safinamide as an add-on therapeutic agent in orally levodopa-treated patients with "OFF" ph...
