It has long been my desire to become a histopathologist. There are two pathways to become a histopathologist. I am unsure which to take and am hoping others with experience or knowledge can help. Is it true that now consultant pathologists spend more time running labs and teams rather than carrying out lab work themselves? I would rather be involved in lab-based work.
1. Medicine (A100)->FY1/FY2->Histopathology Training (5years)->consultant histopathologist
2. Microbiology/biochemistry->PhD/MSc->STP->HSST->Clinical Scientist in Histopathology
