A new toolkit is available from the department of Health & Human Services (HHS) Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), for consumers who want information about the role of medications in treating opioid use disorder. The included materials can also be useful to anyone providing treatment, health care, or recovery support services as a patient education resource. Decisions in Recovery: Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder is a decision support tool that offers information on medication-assisted treatment and recovery options, including: Video Library – groups of videos tailored to specific informational needs, such as medication-assisted treatment (MAT), how to start talking with providers about making medication changes, and personal recovery stories. Glossary – a comprehensive listing of terms related to substance abuse and recovery.
