For a disease that doesn't deserve screening (as per the USPTF), and doesn't seem to be causing huge amount of morbidity and mortality, there sure is a lot written about Thyroid nodules. The more thyroid ultrasound/CT neck/MRI C-spine/CT Thorax I do, the more I think nodules are a normal variant and probably some post inflammatory process. For once, I agree with the USPTF, over the recommendation to not screen for nodules, and I think there ought to be a movement to do less and less with these nodules. (Some part of me thinks people ought to avoid doctors altogether lol)
