The Role of Simulation in Planning Intraoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Guided Neurosurgical Procedures: A Case Report
We present our experience with 2 cases of preprocedural simulation on healthy volunteers that were performed in the intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging suite. During one of the cases, we also simulated a scenario of sudden cardiac arrest. Such an approach helped us to refine the procedures and coordinate the work of different teams within the intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging suite as well as improve the quality of patient management.
Conclusions: In 3D brachytherapy of cervical cancer, GO and IPSA optimizations do not present a significant difference in target dose coverage; nevertheless, IPSA may reduce the maximum dose to normal tissue when compared with GO. PMID: 31523240 [PubMed]

ConclusionsTFA was determined to be a theranostic agent for chemical ablation of solid tissue. Ablation was both efficacious and imageable in ex vivo healthy tissue, even at low concentrations or with high temporal resolution.
We examined the CTNNB1 and APC sequence and found an A-to-G transition at codon 41 of CTNNB1, i.e., Thr was substituted by Ala. Our findings suggest that the dysregulation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is related to the tumorigenesis of some cases of DFB. This hypothesis indicates that there are some cases of DFB in which nuclear positive expression of β-catenin are useful for diagnosis.

ConclusionNeck nerve tumors are very often benign with low degenerative potential. Surgery is the treatment of choice after risk/benefit analysis. However, there is no clearly defined consensus regarding the timing of surgery for these lesions.
Conclusions There seems to be a real reversible dynamic plasticity under the balance of inhibitory and excitatory influences exerted on the cortical neurons. Any disruption of this balance requires the brain to adapt to the new circumstances to reestablish the hand as a functioning part of the body.
We describe here a case of progressive childhood-onset cerebellar ataxia with vertical supra nuclear gaze palsy with no family history and a normal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of brain. The clinical exome sequencing in this patient showed a homozygous mutation in SQSTM1. This case highlights the importance of next-generation sequencing in the diagnosis of inherited ataxia syndromes.
