Publication date: March 2017 Source:Phytochemistry Letters, Volume 19 Author(s): Timo D. Stark, Sofie Lösch, Onesmo B. Balemba, Thomas Hofmann Two new benzoyl glucuronosyl glycerols, (2R)-1-O-4-hydroxy-benzoyl-3-O-α-d-glucuronosyl glycerol (1) and (2S)-1-O-4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzoyl-3-O-α-d-glucuronosyl glycerol (2), together with helicioside (3), quercetin-6-C-β-d-glucopyranoside (4), apigenin-8-C-β-d-glucopyranosyl-2″-O-L-rhamnopyranoside (5), vitexin (6), (2R,3R)-aromadendrin-6-C-β- d-glucopyranoside and (2R,3R)-taxifolin-6-C-β- d-glucopyranoside were isolated and purified from the leaves of Garcinia buchananii. Their structures were identified by the interpretation of spectroscopic data. This is the first report of compounds 1-6 from G. buchananii. Graphical abstract
