Chitotriosidase as a novel biomarker of early atherosclerosis in hemodialysis patients

In conclusion, this is the first report showing that serum CHIT‐1 level was related independently with carotid IMT in hemodialysis patients. This biomarker might have an unknown role in the development of atherosclerosis during uremia.
