Comparison of two contraceptive pills containing drospirenone and 20μg or 30μg ethinyl estradiol for polycystic ovary syndrome
To compare the effects of 30μg and 20μg ethinyl estradiol (EE) among women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Authors: Loh HH, Yee A, Loh HS, Kanagasundram S, Francis B, Lim LL Abstract PURPOSE: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common disorder characterized by clinical or biochemical hyperandrogenism and ovulary dysfunction. Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) adversely affects quality of life and interpersonal relationships. We aimed to compare the prevalence of FSD in women with and without PCOS. METHODS: We pooled data from 28 observational studies involving 6256 women. Apart from the total prevalence of FSD, subgroup analyses based on different PCOS diagnostic criteria and obesity status (body mass index [BMI]&t...
To investigate the placental morphology alterations and identify the clinical characteristics of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and their newborns. Pregnant women with PCOS (n = 12) and pregnant women without PCOS (n = 11) were recruited. Then, the placenta, maternal blood and cord blood were collected after delivery.
To quantitate left ventricular mass index (LVMI) and correlate it with inflammation, insulin resistance (IR) and serum androgen levels among nonobese normotensive women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
To identify different microbial species in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and reveal a possible relationship between gut dysbiosis and pathological changes.

Conclusions: There was insufficient evidence to support that acupuncture could promote live birth, pregnancy, and ovulation. However, acupuncture could promote the recovery of menstrual cycles as well as downregulate the levels of LH and testosterone in patients with PCOS. Study registration: PROSPERO CRD42019128574.
In conclusion, ovarian innervation likely played an important role in folliculogenesis, and EA might restore PCOS pathophysiology by regulating ovarian innervation, at least partially mediated through the SON.
The objective of this review is to summarize our knowledge about the contribution of vitamin D3 to physiological and pathological processes within the ovary. PMID: 32469224 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
AbstractPolycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is considered to be one of the most prevalent endocrine disorders affecting women of reproductive age. CiRS-126, an innovative circular microRNA, has previously been proven to be a promising miR-21 sponge. However, a proper understanding of the impact of ciRS-126 on PCOS is needed. Circular RNA (CiRS) profiles were initially evaluated in ovarian cortex samples obtained from 18 women with PCOS as well from 9 women without PCOS. Insulin-induced ovarian granulosa cells isolated from mice were utilized for the functional study. CiRS microarray analysis and quantitative real-time PCR i...
Association of IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, and TGFβ1 Gene Polymorphisms with Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Dis Markers. 2020;2020:6076274 Authors: Alkhuriji AF, Al Omar SY, Babay ZA, El-Khadragy MF, Mansour LA, Alharbi WG, Khalil MI Abstract Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is a common pregnancy-associated complication of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which is an endocrine malfunction disease.
