Hexavalent Chromium Plaintiffs Say Federal Common Law Should Apply To Case

HOUSTON - A woman who is suing Iraq War contractors, individually and on behalf of other veterans, alleging that her late husband and others were exposed to hexavalent chromium at an oil extraction site in Iraq filed a brief on April 20, arguing that the defendants' position regarding the choice of law analysis "entirely ignores" substantive differences in the laws of the potential jurisdictions relevant to the case and that the District Court should apply federal law to the case at hand (Mark McManaway, et al v. KBR Inc., et al., No. 10-1044, S.D. Texas).
