Pneumomediastinum following blunt trauma: Worth an exhaustive workup?
CONCLUSION: Isolated findings of pneumomediastinum on screening chest x-ray or CT following blunt trauma is a poor predictor of an aerodigestive injury. Highly selective workup in this clinical setting is warranted.
