Measuring the Quality and Safety of Upper Endoscopy in Patients Taking Glucagon-like Peptide 1 Receptor Agonists

We are writing in response to the recently published article from Yeo et  al1 regarding the increased risk of aspiration pneumonia within 1 month of an endoscopic procedure among patients taking glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs).1 These findings support the notion that patients taking GLP-1 RAs should be considered as a high-risk population for perie ndoscopic aspiration risk.
