27 Characteristics of lung cancer diagnosed through a Rapid Diagnostic Clinic
Emergency presentation as the first diagnosis of cancer is associated with poorer patient outcomes and experience. To mitigate this, the NHS Faster Diagnostic Framework recommends Rapid Diagnostic Clinics (RDCs) for the investigation of non-specific symptoms. The Chelsea& Westminster Rapid Diagnostic Clinic (CW-RDC) was set up in 2015 for patients with suspected cancer and non-specific symptoms, who do not meet 2WW criteria nor warrant emergency admission.
