Development and Implementation of an Early Detection Program: Pitfalls and Successes

Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common disability in childhood, but often goes undiagnosed until age 2 years. Watchful waiting and monitoring have historically been practiced. International guidelines set forth in 2017 led to a paradigm shift towards early detection and intervention. Our institution, an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) with support from the Cerebral palsy foundation (CPF) has established an early detection program. Our objective is to share our program development process.
