Thirty years ago, if you walked into a nursing home and saw a goat, you ’d have thought you were imagining things. Today, many of us wouldn’t bat an eye. Dogs, cats, goats, birds, fish, rabbits, miniature horses, and even llamas and lizards are all part of life in nursing homes and other long-term and post-acute care facilities everywhere.
