Lower Body Warming and Postoperative Temperature in Cesarean Delivery under Spinal Anesthesia: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Perioperative hypothermia and shivering are common during and after cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia. Hypothermia reportedly occurs in 60% of cases, and is associated with surgical site infection, cardiac complications and coagluopathies.1 –5 Shivering, seen in approximately 85% of cases, not only causes discomfort but also introduces the potential for monitoring errors and increased oxygen consumption.6
