Access Site Femoral Arterial Pseudoaneurysm

A 45-year-old patient with a history of alcoholic cirrhosis presented with a rectus sheath hematoma after bedside paracentesis, which enlarged despite medical management. Coagulopathy was corrected with the administration of fresh frozen plasma before left common femoral arterial access (Fig 1a). Empiric embolization of the right inferior epigastric artery was performed. The arterial puncture site was closed with the assistance of a vascular closure device.
