Comparison of Legacy and New No-History IOL Power Calculation Formulas in Post-Myopic Laser Vision Correction Eyes
In contemporary ophthalmic practice, clinicians frequently encounter patients with visually significant cataracts who have undergone previous myopic laser vision correction (M-LVC). Accurate determination of intraocular lens (IOL) power in M-LVC eyes poses a challenge, leading to less accurate refractive outcomes than non-M-LVC eyes.1 One factor contributing to this discrepancy is that the effective lens position (ELP) tends to be more posterior than anticipated, based on the altered keratometry, resulting in a more-than-intended hyperopic refractive outcome.
