Racial Disparities in Clozapine Prescription Patterns Among Patients With Schizophrenia
CONCLUSIONS: Black patients with schizophrenia had a lower likelihood of receiving a clozapine prescription compared with White patients, even after analyses accounted for demographic variables, social determinants of health, and care access patterns. Given the effectiveness of clozapine in managing treatment-resistant schizophrenia, it is crucial for future research to better understand the factors contributing to this treatment disparity.PMID:38500451 | DOI:10.1176/appi.ps.20230226
