Revisiting the use of high flow nasal cannula in acute exacerbation of COPD and conclusion of trial

I am writing to express my thoughts on the article titled “High-flow nasal cannula may prolong the length of hospital stay in patients with hypercapnic acute COPD exacerbation” authored by Jingen Xia, Haopu Yang, Qingyuan Zhan, Yubo Fan, and Chen Wang published in Respiratory Medicine. [1]) It was of great interest and I appreciated the authors' effort in an extensive search in the literature regarding oxygen therapy on chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD). However, we would like to raise the following two concerns in their randomized controlled trial.
