Iliac Branch Devices and Long Term Technical Success: A Synergetic Relationship

In this study, Torrealba et  al. report their retrospective single centre results of 182 iliac branch device (IBD) procedures in 156 patients mostly for common iliac artery aneurysms, either isolated (10%) or combined with (thoraco)abdominal aortic aneurysms (90%).1 Their study suggests that IBDs in dilated internal iliac art eries (IIAs ≥ 11 mm diameter, n = 54) have lower technical success rates (91 vs. 98%, p = .002), freedom from type Ic endoleak (77 vs. 97% at 24 months, p = .001), and freedom from re-intervention (70 vs.
